  1. sculpture

From the recording Psyche

"Sculpture" is an intense, distorted slow rock song born from a struggle with low self-esteem after depression. It reflects the internal battle of learning to accept my body, a feeling that emerged from the impact of depression. Written as a personal affirmation, the song is about recognizing your body as a vessel for your mind and soul, embracing the unique details that define you, and letting go of self-criticism.

Lyrics

[Chorus]
It’s only on the surface (I swear)
There’s more to me (I promise)
Self-loathing now I’m cautious
Found comfort in my honest

[Verse 1]
Without a say created out of clay
No limits in the ways that I can change
Embodied finer details with intentional flaws
Some days likeable, other days I hit on walls

[Pre-chorus]
I tried to picture the hands that created,
Carved figures I found hard embracing
Mastered the art of pretending faces
Abstract living only trying to make it

[Chorus]
It’s only on the surface (I swear)
There’s more to me (I promise)
Self-loathing now I’m caution
Found comfort in my honest

Created like a sculpture (I know)
Found faults I’d never alter
Took all i had to break this
Relearning to be gracious
(proud of the days I make it)

[Verse 2]
Hardened up with time, rather sacrifice
What’s naked to the eye, fractured up inside,
these aches that go so undetected
emotions unconsidered and defected

[Pre-chorus]
Can’t settle with unnatural changes,
Moulded to standout but rather go faceless, frameless

[Chorus]
It’s only on the surface (I swear)
There’s more to me (I promise)
Self-loathing now I’m caution
Found comfort in my honest

Created like a sculpture (I know)
Found faults I’d never alter
Took all I had to break this
Relearning to be gracious
(proud of the days I make it)
